... do you stay up all night ever? partying? studying? making out with your lover? working?

... if so, when's the last time you were awake till the sun came up in the morn and why did you do it?

    ... comments?

I pulled an all nighter once in my life. It was back in university. I decided to stay up all night in the computer lap working on my project. I felt OK overnight. In the morning, I had a class at 8:30. I when to the cafeteria to have breakfast, felt fine and went to class.

About 15 minutes into my class, I was really struggling to stay awake. This was a very small class with about a dozen students, so I figured I wait for the end of the class, leave and get some sleep.

About 30 minutes in, I felt that my chance of staying up throughout the entire duration of the class was not good. The class was an hour and a half. I finally decided it was less embarrassing to just leave in the middle of the class than faceplant into the desk. I decided to leave.

I had to take the bus home. Now I was concerned that I'd fall asleep on the bus. Fortunately, a friend also got on the same bus. We chatted which helped me to stay away. She got off before my stop, but I didn't have any difficulty staying up until my stop.

I arrived home at around 10. I went to bed and slept until around 6p that evening. That evening I went to bed at 9pm and then woke up at my usual time the next day.

After going through all that, I didn't gain any time. I slept pretty much the same amount of time. I ended up losing a class as I had to skip out early and was too tired to pay attention in the beginning anyway. After that, I never pulled an all nighter ever again.

... good story, Stuntman! thanks for sharing ...

... when i first started in radio at CHQM in vancouver i worked the overnight shift a few times which went from midnight to six A.M. if i remember correctly. one thing that was interesting was seeing the city come alive while you were winding down your day at the conclusion of your shift ...
