In this thread, we talk about new local restaurants we notice. No worries if you haven't dined there!

Arisu Japanese Restaurant on 41st and Victoria replaced Teaworks. Before it was Teaworks, I recall it being a Chinese grocery store with a cooked food section.

Ananda Bhavan replaced El Sol de Acapulco on Kingsway and Nanaimo. Priced fair and food is pretty good. Nice to have a decent Indian place in that area. Be warned though, I was charged PST which the owner refunded but I don't know if they fixed the register.

Sinh Sinh Vietnamese Cuisine is at 4890 Victoria Dr. which has a reputation for being a cursed lot. That site has a high turnover rate and has definitely seen its share of restaurants. The food was decent and price was fair. Being new, it's definitely one of the cleaner Vietnamese restaurants you'll see.

Golden Eats Seafood Restaurant replaced Seahorse Cafe (海馬茶餐廳) at 2141 Kingsway.

Dragon Lord Café replaced Tako Sushi House which used to be Sushi Hut on 1947 Kingsway.

Sun Tin Day Cafe (新天地餐廳) is a Hong Kong cafe at 5137 Victoria Dr which has yet to open.

My Loving Space at 5552 Victoria Dr. seems to be under renovations and might be turning into a restaurant though I'm not sure. The signage is still up but I saw some posters advertising donairs.

Taza Falafel House at 344 6th St, New Westminster. Across the street from Hon's. Used to be a diner style burger joint.

I haven't tried it yet, middle eastern food might be good for a change one day..

There is great video made about Vancouver restaurants on Google's tastemade channel where they visit 24 Vancouver restaurants in 24 hours, it's called the 'Day of Gluttony' and I really recommend it if you want to know about the Vancouver food scene http://tikki-tikki.com/work/day-of-gluttony/
