Just wanted to comment on the stellar customer service from Telus this year. Everything was set up in less than 5 minutes.

If you are having trouble, go directly through to Telus' customer loyalty and retentions. Call 604-310-6988 and press 3.

Last year I had to call several times and each time I'd end up getting an outsourced CS agent that refused to offer me the student deal since I was an existing customer. They refused to transfer me to customer loyalty and retentions and instead let me talk to a "manager" who refused to budge.

It was only after half an hour when the outsourced CS agents finally transferred me to someone actually from Canada that helped me set everything up.

 

I missed out on the 1 year new telus combo deal for $10 per service and I'm not a student... will they give these deals still and to a non student? I've been holding out on switching hoping that they'll offere something good over the holidays. I'm lookin for a new cell phone deal too. ; p

 

Doesn't hurt to call and try. Shaw usually has some sort of promo to lure former Telus customers too, so you could use that as leverage.
