I know of Capstone Tea & Fondue on Robson, but I'm looking for other places. Looking more for chocolate rather than cheese.

Best chocolate fondue you'll find in Van City is at the Sutton Place Hotel on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. They do an all-u-can eat chocolate buffet, so it's not just the fondue.

There's also a place on Denman just north of Davie, on the east side of the street, but I can't remember the name for the life of me.

Actually it's much better to do it yourself - just get nice premium chocolate, fruit and cherries and you're on your way to paradize. Costco and urban fair should be good places to source it.

as far as prices go what is the best bet? do it yourself or just find a restaurant?

^Price wise, it's always better to do it yourself. Melted chocolate and cut up fruits is far from a culinary puzzle.

I liked the little ice cream balls from Capstone's which I don't know how to replicate at home. Mini scoop some ice cream and re-freeze them for extra firmness?

I think they somehow wrap it with meringue to keep it from melting too quickly.
