I wonder if well get televised mayoral debates like they just had in TO. Those guys really hashed out their differences. We need more of their honest style here.

Meena Wong, through her interviews with the media is proving how little she knows about how our government functions. I'm surprised that COPE chose her to lead. The only good idea she has is the vacant home tax but I doubt it's very thought out. A tax is useless if there are no plans on how it will be enforced.

These comments just blow my mind:

  4. I'm going to vote for Vision. I do believe that Meena wants to do some good for the city but she has no idea what she's doing. I wanted to like Kirk LaPointe and the NPA but they are just running a smear campaign with no strategy or plan.

Don't vote. It only encourages them. ;)
But seriously all we can do is kick the bums out every four years. I don't know much about Kirk Lapointe but voting for him is the only way to get rid of Vision who have overstated their welcome. Really. What has Vision done except banning doorknobs, backyard chickens, bike lanes and letting developers do what they like. Rents haven't gone down and the number of homeless has gone up. Time for a change.

Nice summary Walker. I do sense a kind of arrogance from Vision. Ie Green Elitism but the other parties have not yet been specific enuff in their plans yet....sigh........

Except the Vancouver Charter is provincial. As Mayor, she can suggest amendments but the decision rests with the provincial legislature.
