nth word in each log file (ordered by chapter) gives you a clue which leads you to the answer.

Do I have to redo the chapters if I lost the chapter 7 input page?

There is no chapter 16 or 13. Does anyone have full explanations for the ones that are just answers? like SHANGHAI (chapter 17), MAD LIB (chapter 5) and ABUSIVELY (chapter 21)?

and the movie one.. Apollo 13 (chapter 20)?

Yes please! I would love explanations.

    These are missing explanations too:
    Chapter 4 - SOMA
Chapter 10 - MEXICO, ARGENTINA or KOREA
    Chapter 11 - SOUTHPOLE

Please, how was Chapter 10 solved? I don't get how the solution to that one was obtained!

I'm still looking for the solution for Chapter 10 (how it was solved). Here's how I solved 11... went to: http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/caesar.php

and pasted into the first field the phrase, broken down:
    UEHVD
    QADRZ
    WGJXF
    VFIWE
    JTWKS
    RBESA
    QADRZ
    NXAOW
    GQTHP

    and then shifted by 24:
    SCFTB
    OYBPX
    UEHVD
    TDGUC
    HRUIQ
    PZCQY
    OYBPX
    LVYMU
    EORFN

    They are stock ticker symbols.

    Parsec,

Thanks for trying to explain, but I really still don't get it. How are Mexico, Korea, and Argentina 'out of place'? I didn't see them at all. I managed to solve everything so far without help, except for that one, and I still don't get it. I'm feeling pretty stupid, because it seems to be obvious to everyone else. Can you share just one example where the solution comes from those letters?

Those are the three versions for Chapter 10. After you eliminate the common stock ticker symbols, you're left with KF (The Korea Fund Inc.) in the first image, TEO (Telecom Argentina S.A.) in the second image and TMX (Telmex) in the third image. These are all symbols for the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange), so maybe the other ones are for different stock markets?

Edit: Scratch that, being on the NYSE is not what makes them unique. I have no clue why they don't belong.

Could you explain the ones that are missing solutions? Like Apollo 13.

    Cheese: Thank you!!!

I think I get it. I was looking up the symbols, but I also got hits on the others... I really must be making things too complex.

I'm on 15 now (with an understanding of everything up to this point) --- trying to understand how the rainbow was figured out. The text files are google-able terms, so it's easy to see what word is subbed, but I'm not sure how that clued anyone to clicking on the rainbow. (Unless they just said, "Huh, sharing's the only page with two of anything..." and hovered their mouse...

Thank you again for explaining 10... that would have seriously bugged me! ;-)

I've been staring at that wiki now --- and, again, I'm not seeing how they got from A to B... here's the clue:

    evokes/complements
    lives/life
    ourselves/users
    astronomical/hulking
    lasting/encrypted
    deal/rate
    iridescent/neon

How do you get a mnemonic out of that (and the Roy G. Biv is very cute! ;-) )

Hm, well I was wrong about the stock exchange one (there are other NYSE symbols on that list so that's not the identifying factor). I have no clue what makes KF, TMX and TEO unique among the list.

I did figure out some of the other ones (including the stupid movie puzzle) and have updated the walkthrough accordingly. Unforunately they're not any of the ones you're stuck on, Anon.

GL! I'll finish the guide once somebody smart explains the missing chapters. Spent too much time on this already when I still have exams.
