Forum Vancouver doesn't have its own trader rating system, so we recommend using Heatware (see this thread). While it's not mandatory, it's a good idea to have references of some kind. eBay seller rating is also a good option.

    General Rules
    1. You must have an asking price for each item. Auction style threads will be locked or deleted.
    2. No illegal items (including but not limited to fake goods, pirated games and movies)
    3. Don't hijack another person's thread, create your own topic if you are selling similar items.
    4. Do not post an item more than once. If this occurs, all threads will be deleted.
    5. You may bump your thread every 24 hours. Replies to questions in the thread count toward this limit.
    6. No alcohol, tobacco, pornography or weapons (including airsoft and paintball guns).
    7. Large quantity dealers and resellers are not permitted.
    8. No misleading descriptions.
    9. Please honour your prices.
    10. Attach the appropriate thread prefix to your post: FS (For Sale), FT (For Trade), WTB (Wanting to Buy).
    11. Titles should contain item name and price (unless you are selling multiple items). Try to also specify whether your price is FIRM or OBO (Or Best Offer).

    Tips for Safe Transactions:
    1. Conduct the transaction in a public space with lots of people. For textbook exchanges, on campus is the best bet.
    2. Exchange contact information, especially phone numbers. Make sure it works before you meet up.
--> Avoid posting emails and phone numbers directly in threads to prevent them from being harvested by spammers and telemarketers.
--> Instead, use our Private Message (PM) system to exchange contact information instead.
    4. Check for references (see Heatware guide or link your eBay rating)

Rules may be added or revised periodically, so be sure to check back for any updates.
