... this shows just how disgusting justice (justice?) still is in some cultures. and to add to the horror of such a spectacle, the man they executed was a minor as well. a word of caution: the photographs accompanying the article are graphic ...

... the link to the article is HERE ...

... no wonder they had a revolution in iran. still some major reform needed though, eh?

    Thanks for the article...

    Makes me ask 2 questions:

    - a smaller guy killed a bigger guy?
    - Must they hang that man in public?

... i got this from an iranian-american activist's website: "FIVE MINORS HAVE BEEN EXECUTED IN IRAN OVER THE LAST YEAR, including two men under 18 hanged two months ago after being found guilty of homosexuality"

... guilty of homosexuality??? holy smokes! you can be guilty of homosexuality in iran? i guess it's not all that surprising though, is it?

It's a muslim country so I'm not surprised. I don't think islam allows homosexuality.

Iran today is where the West was in the 1600's. In Oliver Cromwell's England, such cruel punishments were quite normal. We all know about Torquemada and the Spanish Inquisition. What really began changing western civilization was the 18th century Era of Enlightenment. That led to the French and American revolutions, and to the Declaration of the Rights of Man.

When the fledgling United States adopted its Constitution in 1789, one of the amendments in our Bill of Rights forbade "cruel and unusual punishments" to prevent the kinds of things done by past tyrannies. Please do not go thinking that there is anything automatically Islamic about such barbarity. The key word here is not Muslim, but BACKWARD.

They routinely execute pregnant women. Executing a teen is nothing for them.

They believe if you are born in Iran, you are owned by the country and since they rule the country, they own you and can do anything they want to do with you.

Even if you obtain another citizenship, you are still owned by them. Many parents of the kidnapped and executed civilians have been given that answer. The trials and sentencings, even if they go through with them are just a show because in their views, they aren't really needed as long as one of their mullas decides you are guilty, that is all it takes because they are men of God and God told them to sentence someone to death so God knows what he is doing!

They also believe if they kill a person by mistake, they have done them a favor. If they kill an innocent person ,God will put this person in heaven. Since this person may have committed sins if they lived and ended up going to hell, then you should thank them for sending this person to heaven so they didn't have to live a sinful life and end up in hell.

That is how they relieve themselves from all the atrocities they commit.
