Pretty cool. Hope they don't charge for this app!

Today is Sept 7, and I thought "Oh ya, the new Translink App should be out, I gotta check it out and see if it actually works now!" So I pop onto the Apple App Store only to find out that the Translink App no longer exists. So not only did they NOT create a new APP, they got rid of the old one (though that one wasn't any use anyway). So I went onto translink.ca and it turns out, no there is in fact no app just a mobile version of the site. That sure doesn't do me any good, I was really hoping for an actual app, one that would have the standard information available like normal and the up to date info (like where the bus is and all that) available if you have internet access.

So in summary, nice fail Translink, you kept saying "app" and just created a mobile site. So ya, I'll be relying on the iTransit app, which is actually an app. Thanks for nothing guys.

I'm happy with that 33333 service. It is simple and it works for everyone, smart phone or otherwise.

Whatever they do, they better keep the 33333 service.

    Hi Everyone,

Robert from the Buzzer Blog here (buzzer.translink.ca). The new mobile site was released on September 4th and can be accessed at m.translink.ca. It isn't a app, so that's why you can't find at the App Store. For more info on the new mobile site check out - http://buzzer.translink.ca/index.php/2011/09/our-new-mobile-website-is-live/

Let us know what you think!

    Best,
    Robert

Nice interface, clean and pleasing to the eyes, I'll be using the "Next Bus" feature a lot.

Good job. Lovely design. The "Next Bus", "Trip Planner" and "Schedules" functions will be most frequently used.

Actually, I like the mobile version better than the web version because the mobile version seems to be faster than the web version and the interface is less cluttered.

But as mentioned, keep the 33333 service for the seniors and those without smart phones or those without a data plan.

^Paddy, I don't think anyone's going to pay $0.99 to test an unproven app. Some free promo codes for beta testing would be nice ;) or perhaps you can release a limited preview or ad-sponsored version?

Next Bus SMS Service (33333) now includes real-time information!

Departure times marked with an * or C represent scheduled (ie: not real-time) and cancelled buses respectively.

Also! Here's a little known tip for using 33333:
You can filter by specific route by adding it after the stop number, separated by a space when texting.

For example, if I was interested in:
    Bus Route #: 8
    Stop: 58647

    I would send: 58647 8 to 33333
