Students UBC VOTE YES - Keep the UPASS (March 7-11) AMS Referendum

    2. Click on Webvote, in the bullet list on the main page.
    3. Click Cast Vote
    4. Vote on each of the referendum questions. The one concerning the U-Pass is: 2011 AMS Referendum Question 3: U-Pass Renewal

    I have one comment on their question about the proposed increase in AMS fees. I find it misleading how they emphasize that the total net increase is only $5, but if you look carefully it's only a net increase of $5 if you pay for the AMS Health/Dental plan. Those that opt out of the AMS Health/Dental plan will see a larger increase in AMS fees. I suppose that can be made up via the 3% subsidy, but how easy is it to apply for this subsidy? Who is eligible? Not enough information if you ask me :(.

    The following are the results of the 2011 AMS Referendum:

    Question 1: Bylaws – Housekeeping Changes - This question PASSES
    YES: 4937 (~79%) - NO: 1308 (~21%)

    Question 2: Bylaws – Substantive Changes - This question DOES NOT PASS (fails to meet quorum)
    YES: 3334 (~58%) - NO: 2395 (~42%)

    Question 3: U-Pass Renewal - This question PASSES
    YES: 12896 (~95%) - NO: 678 (~5%)

    Question 4: Tuition - This question PASSES
    YES: 8737 (~87%) - NO: 1304 (~13%)

    Question 5: AMS Fees - This question PASSES
    YES: 4522 (~52%) - NO: 4136 (~48%)
