    How do they acknowledge receipt?

It says on the TransLink website that you should receive a confirmation email within a few minutes after they receive your online application.

If you go to www.translink.ca/careers and then click onto Having trouble applying? And THEN scroll down into the FAQ's section.

Not sure what was wrong, but this forum was down for nearly 2 days.

New posting up today looking for 2 Bus Stop Maintenance workers. Like $38 an hour. Considered a skilled trades job. Based out of Burnaby depot. 4 days on/3 off work week.

I passed my interview with West Vancouver Blue Bus. I'm doing a road test with them on Sunday.

How is Blue Bus pay compared to CMBC?

Municipal employees, maybe like 10% less than CMBC.

Any tips on how to memorize the pre-trip inspection? I'm trying and it's so long it seems impossible. And it's frustrating that I don't even need to do it on the job.

    Same for air brakes.

You have to do a pre trip inspection every time you take a bus out of the yard.

OK I stand corrected, still don't know how to memorize it all.

edit: oh I see that they give you the form, that makes it easier. :p Someone told me otherwise.

Shuttle drivers make (if I remember correctly) $21.90/hr. after six months.

I got offered the job with West Vancouver Blue Bus and accepted!

Now I have a medical evaluation, criminal record and vulnerable sector check, and arranging a start date. The checks I did for my current job, so no problem. ;-)

My start date is likely to be Aug. 14. I don't think I can make the Aug. 8 start date - not as good for seniority, but that's probably the way it will work out.

    Congratulations!

I'd be curious to know: part time to start? How long until full time hours? His many Op's in West Vancouver?

Yes, part time to start. They're saying 24 - 36 hours weekly.

Will post replies to your other questions if I find answers.

My start date was changed to Aug. 17 (they couldn't find an instructor).
Pay rates for West Vancouver Community Bus Operator:
    $17.62/hr. during training
$20.37/hr. for the first six months of employment
    $21.90/hr. after six months
After six months, a one time option to either continue receiving an additional 13.5% in lieu of benefits, or opt into the Municipality's benefit package.
