I thought the Rainforest Cafe was the stupidest idea for a restaurant to open in Metro Vancouver. Who thought that people here would want to come in out of the rain just so they can eat in a restaurant and see more rain?

There a building called the Waterfall on 2nd Ave in Vancouver just before Granville Island I've rarely seen anything stupider water roaring over a huge concrete lip 24/7 the stores there are always empty and the people who live upstairs must have triple glazed windows to keep the noise out.

I remember when that section where the Bay is was totally dead. Now it's very lively.

Before, the section between Sears and Target was very busy as it was the main section of the mall. Last decade, it died off once Metrotown merged with Metropolis as this section is no longer considered to be the main section. Stores would be dead. It has picked up a bit as big stores like Forever XXI and Victoria Secrets have taken over this section. Before there were a lot of small store and they don't draw much traffic.

Before Metrotown merged with Metropolis (formerly Eaton's Centre), there was just a little skywalk between the two malls on the second level. It got extremely crowded during the Xmas shopping season. They had to put a rail down the centre of the skywalk and made people walk only on the right.

The part that is now Sportchek and a few other stores used to be a big Sears like store know as Eaton's. It was accessible through the escalators from the outside where the bus station is. Good early 90's days.

Lots of memories at Metrotown :(

Skywalk between Metropolis and Eaton Centre. It would get packed every boxing day, literal traffic jam.
    Unlimited play nights at Playdium
Eating the terrible food at Rainforest Cafe
The store with the indoor 100 meter track... was it called Planet Superstar or something?
Weird stores like Glow, Spencer Gifts and San Francisco
    Mike's Karaoke
    The old food court
Big ass asian restaurant where the food court is now. They had good dim sum.
    Indoor smoking
    Johnny Zee's
    2 theatres in Station Square
    Bretton's department store
    and lastly... Cave-On-Foods!

I remember that my mother was going to go to the new Save-on-Foods in Metrotown that day of the roof collapsing, but decided not to for some reason.
