They trick you to register and then expire the credit in may, WTF ?

Has anyone been charged when they didn't cross? There's a crossing this month that I don't remember making.

What kind of payments do they accept besides these top up cards? They accept loonies and toonies?

If you haven't signed up, they mail an invoice to your address. If you did sign up, you pay on their website. I don't think you can pay by cash, there's no cash toll lane.

I remember reading that they were incorrectly processing out-of-province license plates. So if someone with Alberta or Washington plates with the same or similar number drove across the bridge, the system wrongly charges your account.

TReO and the Port Mann Bridge has been a bit of a gong show since the bridge opened. Poor customer service, billing errors, bridge hazards, missing decals, etc.

The only reason you would be charged if you didn't go across is if the bridge incorrectly read your plate. That's why registered customers credit cards don't get charged until about a month after they are billed, so you can check to see if the crossing was yours. Otherwise your toll is probably correct.

You can pay by cash at their walk-in centres, or by credit card or pre-authorized debit. Avoid using Pay-by-phone, though. That just confuses things.

I go over the port mann bridge like once a year. I don't want to sign up. The walk in centre is at the bridge? If I decide to go to the vancouver zoo on the day, can I just drive to the bridge and pay to cross?

The TREO office is on the Coquitlam side of the bridge... I believe you can access the office via Lougheed Highway...

IF you signed up online back before the deadline, they were offering your first 20 crossings for FREE, but they expire at the end of this month...
Then, again if you signed up before the deadline, it's half price ($1.50) to cross until December...

Otherwise $3 each way to cross, in a standard vehicle... PLUS a fee of $2.30 per trip if NOT registered!

You can pay that same day online, by phone, or just at one of the walk-in centres. Go to treo.ca, and click on the contact us button to see maps of where the walk-in centres are.

Yeah, if you don't register you get charged $2.30 extra unless you pay within 7 days of crossing.

There's a promotion where if you register by June 30, 2013, you get the last 30 day's license plate processing fees applied as credit to use on future trips. The credit lasts for 2 years.

I've also heard people were abusing a loophole with the HOV lanes to get 25% off. "You only have to be in the HOV lane when you go over the sensors and then you can switch back to the regular lane,” says one anonymous driver."

Just got an email/bill from Treo saying that I owe for 6 crossings between March & May, even though I haven't used up the $30 promotional credit from Dec 1 thru May 31???

So I called Treo, was on hold for better part of 10 minutes, and it turns out that it's a techincal error on their part, and I don't actually owe anything....

But: If you had any remaining promotional credit left, they all expired June 1...

Same thing happened to me. You'd think they'd automatically fix it instead of sending out invoices if they knew about the technical error. Ridiculous.

Billing errors and incorrect charges seem common place. Lots of people receiving invoices with mistakes, wrongly charged when they didn't cross etc.

For those of you who did sign up in time for the reduced rates thru today Nov 30: The reduced tolls will be extended one more month!
